Project partners Daniele de Caro and Michele Maria Tedesco, from CRF and David Frómeta, from Eurecat, have participated in the CO2 Reduction for Transportation Systems Conference, celebrated on June 21st-22nd both online and in the Polytechnic of Turin (Italy).
Their presentation, entitled “Lightweight metals in the automotive industry and new methods for sheet metal testing”, showed the evolution of automotive materials used in automotive body-in-white components and closure applications to meet new requirements, as well as the latest innovation in terms of metal sheets. Moreover, scientific results and research activities of new material characterization methods, such as those based on the Essential Work of Fracture (EWF), anticipating any stamping failures during the virtual simulation activities.
This presentation was held under the session “Lightweighting”, chaired by Francesco Leali, Professor at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
