The ToughSteel project has been presented at the TGA4 Steel Applications and Solutions for Existing and New Markets meeting, taking place online on the 17 October 2022 online.
On behalf of ToughSteel, Begoña Casas, researcher at the Metallic and Ceramic Unit at Eurecat, delivered a presentation providing an overview of the project and the progress of planned dissemination activities to steelmakers and researchers to promote the benefits of the Essential Work of Fracture (EWF) methodology to assess fracture toughness of thin metallic sheets.
In addition to ToughSteel, during the meeting 14 other RFCS projects were presented, including: First-Wire, HYCAD, IntellCut Process, FATECO, CuttingEdge4.0, FREEDAM PLUS, FAILNOMORE, FISHWALL, LASTTS, DREAMERS, InSCEB, WINDUCTION, TOPGEAR, Stir4Steel. The event has also served as a forum to exchange information amongst projects, identify common problems and establish synergies that can later materialise in joint activities.
